Calm Weather Pattern for Now and a Meteor Shower

Good Saturday bloggers,

We are in a quiet weather pattern for another 5-7 days. There are signs of a more active pattern starting next weekend. This is the best weekend, so far, to enjoy outdoor activities and there are some big events. The weather was near perfect for the KC  Marathon and will be very good for the races at the Speedway and the big Chiefs game on Sunday Night Football in America. The game can be seen on 41 Action News.

The forecast has changed little for these big events.

The weather will be great as well to view the Orionid Meteor shower tonight. The sky will be clear and the air will be dry, so no haze. However, a full moon will hamper things a bit.

Here is a link for more info on the meteor shower.

A cold front will sweep through today increasing our wind to 15-25 mph from the north. This front is attached to a storm system racing southeast across the Great Lakes where it is producing rain and snow showers.

SATURDAY AFTERNOON: The front will come through after highs reach 60°-65°. Temperatures will level off and then drift down a few degrees.

SATURDAY NIGHT/SUNDAY MORNING: The wind will decrease to 5-10 mph this evening as temperatures drop to the 40s. By morning lows will drop to 30°-35° along with very little wind as a surface high pressure settles overhead.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON: It will be a super Sunday with 100% sunshine, a south breeze at 5-15 mph with highs 55°-60°.

SUNDAY EVENING: The surface high pressure will drift farther east and this will allow our wind to increase from the south to 10-20 mph. Temperatures will drop to the 40s, so it is going to be a cool evening, however, winning weather for football.

Have a great weekend.
